Trove & the record
Reading Magnet in print.
The project draws on digitised historical newspapers available through Trove, the National Library of Australia’s searchable archive. Reports, notices, advertisements, shipping news and personal items all help trace the people and places connected with Magnet.
The research has drawn on more than 1,000 newspaper records. Each is treated as a lead to be checked against other sources, rather than as the final word on the past.
